The image and the sanctuary
The Marian Grotto is a devotional complement within the sanctuary, mainly josefino. It does not contain the coronation of the image or a decree that the herb as its own Marian sanctuary. It's an open-air prayer space.
Sponsorship and coronation
Invocation of popular devotion; there is no official recognition of the Church as Marian sanctuary, since the title of the place is of St. Joseph. There is no canonical coronation of the image of the Virgin.
Party and devotion
The parish celebrates the feast of St. Joseph on March 19. For the Marian Grotto there is no party of its own other than the general Marian parties of the calendar. The grotto is frequented by French-speaking families and groups of immigrants, including Filipinos and Latin Americans, who come to pray for family and work. The parish bulletins collect testimonies of faithful who attribute favors to the intercession of the Virgin (employment, family reconciliation), but have not submitted to canonical examination: they are testimonies of popular piety, not declared miracles.
Link to the Rosary
In the grotto, the community Rosary was prayed in May and October, especially with the participation of the French-speaking community.
