Six seers report apparitions from 1981 to today.
On June 24, 1981, six young people from Medjugorje (Vicka, Mirjana, Ivan, Marija, Jakov and Pedja) saw the Virgin Mary on the hill of Podbrdo. The apparitions continued for years and some seers continue to receive daily messages.
The Virgin presents herself as Our Lady of the Queen of Peace and its central message is prayer, fasting, conversion and peace. There have been numerous curations reported in Medjugorje, although none has been officially recognized by the Church.
