Prayer is a battle
Why praying is difficult, and why precisely for that reason we shouldn't give it up
Basta que nos decidamos a rezar para que se nos crucen por la cabeza mil cosas pendientes, el desgano y la pregunta de para qué rezamos. No es casualidad ni es un defecto nuestro sin remedio: la oración es un combate. Y conviene saberlo, porque quien lo entiende ya no se rinde cuando llega la desgana.
Why is it so hard to pray?
The moment we decide to pray, thoughts of pending tasks, listlessness, and questions about why we are praying cross our minds.
It is logical that we find it difficult to pray, because prayer is a battle, against the forces of evil, but also against ourselves.
A soul that prays is lost to the devil.
The Virgin Mary has said in numerous messages that if we were truly aware of all the graces and favors of every kind that we receive while we pray, we would never stop praying for a single moment. We must know this and always keep it in mind, because there is someone who knows it too: the devil. And that is why he will do everything possible to turn us away from prayer, because he knows that a soul that prays is lost to him.
Don't let yourself be guided solely by desire.
So let's not be guided solely by our desires. If I feel like praying, so be it; but if I'm listless and don't feel like praying, let's try to pray anyway, even if it's just with short prayers, or by telling God that we love Him, praising the Lord, and lifting our hearts to Heaven.
And if we persevere in prayer, even when we don't feel like it and don't "feel" like it, God will greatly reward us, and will reward us for the sacrifice made to pray, and will even give us the comfort and the desire to persevere in prayer.
Prayer, first of all
Let us never forget that prayer is a battle, and that we must put it first in our lives, in our daily lives. For our salvation depends on prayer, as does the success of our lives, the protection of our loved ones, the deliverance of our country from many evils, and so many other graces that God grants through prayer.
More powerful than the atomic bomb
The Virgin Mary has also said that prayer is more powerful than the chain reaction generated by an atomic bomb. That is to say, our prayer generates waves that reach the ends of the earth, to Purgatory, and throughout the entire universe.
🙏 Don't stop praying
Let us not abandon prayer. Let us pray, even when we don't feel like it. Let us pray, even when we don't feel like it. For the reward that awaits us is peace and well-being in this world, and eternal happiness in the hereafter.
