Chiquinquirá and Simón Bolívar

Bolívar visited the Virgin before each battle and donated the jewels of the sanctuary to her.
Simon Bolívar, the Liberator of America, was a devotee of the Virgin of Chiquinquirá. Before every battle, I was going to pray to the basilica.
To finance the Liberation Campaign, Bolívar took the jewels and treasures that the faithful had donated to the Virgin. The Virgin, implicitly, financed the independence of five countries.
After each victory, Bolívar returned to Chiquinquirá to thank the Virgin. It is said that once, while praying, he saw a light on the altar that he interpreted as Mary's blessing for his company.
