Since the Virgin appeared in the Lajas, a spring sprang from the rock. The sick go there to drink from that water and many say they have been healed.
Tradition tells that the Virgin put in the spring the grace of healing. Those who drink from that water feel a strange peace, as if the Virgin embraced them inside.
The basilica has a source where pilgrims can drink from the sacred water.
The water of the Lajas is the embrace of the Virgin to the sick.
