Every year, thousands of pilgrims go up the stairs of the canyon to see the Virgin.

The basilica of the Lajas is on a 100-meter cannon. To get there, pilgrims must climb 1,500 steps carved on the rock.
The pilgrims go up barefoot, praying the Rosary. It is a difficult path, but the faithful say that each step is a prayer.
When they come up, they see the basilica floating over the canyon, with the image of the Virgin on the rock. It is one of the most impressive shows in Colombia.
To go up to the Lajas is to go up to meet the Mother.
