La parroquia de Maecheonin Buk-gu, Daegu, is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Since 2003, this mystery proclaims that the salvation of Christ reaches the whole person and sustains a hope that becomes service.

A patronage confirmed by the Korean Church

The Episcopal Conference of Korea records Skills, the Assumption of Mary, as patronage of Maecheon. The file also confirms the archdiocese, the direction and the date of the foundation.

There is no Marian apparition linked to the site. This page documents a parish advocation and its meaning, without attributing to the temple a category of sanctuary.

A parish since 2003

The community was erected August 29, 2003. The episcopal directory documents the collaboration of the Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing.

The Benedictine tradition of prayer and work offers a concrete way of uniting the hope of heaven with fidelity to the present tasks.

What the Assumption confesses
