The precision of the Korean title
The Conferencia Episcopal de Corea registers el patronazgo como Sex Mole, literally "Heart of Mary." It does not add the "immaculate" adjective, explicitly present in other Korean parishes.
Both expressions belong to a close spiritual tradition, but this page retains the exact name of Dongnae. The diocese, the direction and the date of foundation are also confirmed.
A parish since 1951
Dongnae was erected on 20 September 1951during the Korean war period. The source does not explain here the specific circumstances of its creation, so no details should be invented; the date, however, places its birth in a time of enormous suffering and displacement.
The episcopal directory documents the collaboration of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The proximity of both spiritualities expresses that the Heart of Mary always leads to the love of Christ.
The heart in Scripture
In biblical language, the heart is the center of the person: memory, intelligence, will and affections. Saint Luke presents Mary by keeping and meditating in her heart the words and events related to Jesus.
His interior is not a lock-up. After the Annunciation he is on his way to Elizabeth; in Cana he perceives a need; by the cross he remains faithful; with the disciples he awaits the Holy Spirit.
