La parroquia de Guam-dongin the northern district of Daegu, is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Founded in December 1999, it moved from its first provisional masses to a new temple offered in 2006.

Guam-dong, not the island of Guam
El nombre korean Guam o Guam-dong. On this page it designates a neighborhood of Buk-gu, in Daegu, and not the island territory of Guam in Oceania.

The parish website and the episcopal directory coincide in the title Unbelievable, unbelievable: the Blessed Virgin Mary conceived without original sin.
The Immaculate Conception refers to the beginning of Mary's life, preserved by God's grace from original sin in response to the redemption made by Jesus Christ. It should not be confused with the virginal conception of Jesus.
The first days of December 1999
The parish was erected on December 3. Two days later his first parish priest celebrated the Mass in the parish of Taejeon and on December 12, Guam's first Mass was offered, coinciding with the apparition of the first parish newsletter.
On December 26, Archbishop Paul Ri Moun@-@ hi visited the new community. These events show that the foundation was a process experienced in several celebrations, not just an administrative date.
From the initial space to the present temple
The parish chronology documents the preparation of the new building since 2004. The construction permit arrived in January 2005 and the construction start ceremony was held on 27 March.
The transfer and first celebrations began in January 2006. The first official mass in the new temple brought together 520 people on January 22 and the dedication was held on April 30.
A community built step by step
The first years included visits to homes, baptisms, first communion, confirmations, family formation, service to victims and pilgrimages. The parish history retains these data in remarkable detail.
In 2009 he opened a biblical university for the elderly with a three-year itinerary. This service unites the transmission of faith with the recognition of the experience and dignity of the elderly.
The patron party
The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8. The parish has marked this day with celebrations and activities, keeping the name of the temple together with the real liturgical life.
