Unambiguous dedication
The Episcopal Conference of Korea and the archdiocese of Gwangju record "Mary conceived without original sin" as patron of Ssangchon- dong.
Korean formulation is explicit and should not be reduced to a generic title. The Immaculate Conception refers to the beginning of Mary's life, not to the virginal conception of Jesus.
A parish founded in 1981
The official foundation took place on 31 January 1981. The community today belongs to the western pastoral district of the Archdiocese.
Secondary Catholic sources record over six thousand faithful, while the current episcopal directory shows zero. That zero looks like an unupdated administrative field and is not interpreted as an absence of community.
What does Immaculate Conception mean?
Catholic doctrine teaches that Mary was preserved from original sin from the first moment of her conception, by God's grace and in anticipation of the merits of Jesus Christ.
Mary also needs the salvation of Christ. He receives it in a unique way: not after falling, but being preserved by the same redeeming grace.
It is not the conception of Jesus
A frequent confusion identifies the Immaculate Conception with the virginal conception of Christ. They're different mysteries.
The Immaculate refers to how Mary's life began within her mother. The Incarnation refers to Jesus conceived by the work of the Holy Spirit within Mary.
«Llena de gracia»
The angel's greeting - "Rejoice, full of grace" - occupies a central place in the contemplation of this mystery. Grace does not make Mary passive: it makes possible a freedom fully available to God.
Pope Francis explains that Mary was saved by Christ in an extraordinary way and remained as Mother and disciple, while being a creature.
The "yes" of a free woman
The holiness of Mary does not eliminate her decision. In the Annunciation, listen, ask and finally answer: "Be done in me according to your word."
The Immaculate One teaches that grace does not destroy freedom, but it heals it and brings it to its fullness in love and service.
El dogma de 1854
Pius IX solemnly defined this doctrine on December 8, 1854. Ineffabilis God. The definition took on a tradition of prayer and reflection developed for centuries.
The December 8 party is held in Advent. Mary appears as a living preparation for the arrival of the Saviour.
Belleza sin superficialidad
Tradition speaks of the "All Holy" and contemplates in Mary the beauty of a humanity reconciled with God. It's not about physical appearance or perfectionism.
The beauty of the Immaculate is humility, truth, compassion and availability. This is why it is especially evident in service to those who lack recognition.
A call for every baptized person
Mary's privilege is unique, but it reveals the common vocation to holiness. St. Paul teaches that God calls to live holy and irreproachable in love.
Honoring the Immaculate means asking for cleansing of intention, reconciling and starting again when sin has hurt the relationship with God and with others.
The Sisters of the Charity of Jesus
The episcopal record points to the presence of the Sisters of the Charity of Jesus. The name of the congregation helps to unite devotion and service.
No current parish tasks are attributed without direct verification. His documented presence recalls that Marian holiness is translated into concrete charity.
