The heart in the Bible
In biblical language, the heart is not just the place of feelings. It represents the center of the person, where it is heard, remembered, discerned and decided before God.

The word "immaculate" expresses the action of grace that preserves Mary from sin and unifies her life in love for God. Devotion does not worship an isolated body organ, but honors the person of the Virgin and her full response to grace.
A community founded in 1978
Daedeok was erected on 20 August 1978. The parish is located in Daemyeong-dong, within Nam-gu, and belongs to the archdiocese of Daegu.
The diocesan record documents the presence of the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This collaboration makes visible the spiritual closeness between the Heart of Christ and that of his Mother: both refer to the love that is given.
The Heart of the Mother and of her Son
The devotion to the Heart of Mary always leads to Jesus Christ. Mary receives her Word, shares her goings and pains, and wants everyone to do what he says.
In the presentation of the Child, Simeon announces that a sword will pass through Mary's soul. The image expresses a motherhood that does not avoid suffering, but remains faithful and compassionate before it.

Daedeok is located near the Anjirang station and the climb to Apsan. It is an urban environment of continuous movement, where the spirituality of the heart invites to recover silence and discernment.
A parish under this title is called to listen before responding: to care for families, young people, the sick and those living alone, keeping their needs without indifference.
Memory, reparation and peace
The tradition of the Immaculate Heart includes prayer for conversion, the repair of sin and peace. Repair is not to remain in guilt, but to respond to evil with a transformed life and works of love.
In Korea, the intention for the reconciliation of the peninsula gives this prayer a concrete expression. The heart you remember without hatred can keep open a possibility of encounter.
