Marian devotion
The parish of Sejongno, located in Jongno-gu, is dedicated to Immaculate Heart of Mary. Founded after the liberation of Korea, he changed his headquarters and name until he settled in Pilun-dong. His own history documents that in 2009 he was appointed Marian church of pilgrimage.

The directory of the Korean Episcopal Conference literally records the "Heart of Our Lady without sin" as the patronage of Sejongno. It is the Korean way of expressing the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
The advocation is confirmed by an episcopal source, not deduced from a parish association. It is also distinguished from many other Korean churches that share the same title.
The first parish created after liberation
The official history indicates that in May 1946 it was separated from the Myeongdong Cathedral under the name of the parish of Sajik-dong. The community presents it as the first parish established after the liberation of Korea.
In December 1949 he moved to Doryeom-dong and adopted the name Sejongno. In September 1954 he arrived at Pilun-dong, his current location.
Construction and consolidation
The first floor of the new temple was dedicated in August 1955. The second floor and subsequent consecration are documented in 1969.
The community opened a kindergarten in 1970 and that same year it received a house from the Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Relief. These data show a parish life linked to education, consecration and service.
