Marian devotion

A confirmed patronage
The Episcopal Conference of Korea expressly records the Immaculate Virgin Mary as the patron of Mokpo Naval. The same fact sheet confirms the founding date and its membership in the military ordinariate.
The ordinariate's own directory corroborates the church's identity and publishes its current home. There is no local Marian apparition: the patronage of a specific Catholic community is documented.
What Mary Immaculate means
The Immaculate Conception states that Mary was preserved from original sin from the first moment of her existence by a unique grace of God, in attention to the merits of Jesus Christ.
It does not refer to the virginal conception of Jesus, nor does it teach that Mary did not need redemption. On the contrary, it was redeemed by Christ in a preventive and entirely free manner.
A grace oriented to Christ
John Paul II explained that the privilege of Mary depends on the universal redeeming action of Jesus Christ. Inmaculist devotion does not separate it from its Son.
To contemplate Mary full of grace leads to thank salvation, to ask for conversion and to recognize that every holiness is born of God's initiative.
