Documented patronage
The Korean Catholic directory expressly records Sado's Birth, "Queen of the Apostles," as patron of Amsa- dong. The official file also provides direction, date of foundation, religious community and contact details.
The patronage is not derived from the geographical name of the parish. It is a Marian dedication of its own, also confirmed by another updated Catholic directory.
Mary among the disciples
The biblical foundation of this advocation appears in the Acts of the Apostles. After Ascension, Mary remains with the disciples, the women and the family of Jesus, united in prayer waiting for the Holy Spirit.
She does not take the place of Christ or replace the mission of the apostles. It accompanies the nascent Church with her faith, her memory of Jesus and her availability for God's action.
What is Reina?
In Christian language, Mary's royalty does not express political domination or privilege separate from service. He participates in the royalty of Christ, who washes the feet of his disciples and gives life.
Therefore, "Queen of the Apostles" invites you to understand authority as care, mission as surrender and evangelization as humble witness.
A missionary advocation
John Paul II recalled that the work of St. Peter the Apostle called upon Mary daily under this title, asking her to raise up apostles and disciples of Jesus. He also called it the star of evangelization and a model of availability.
The mission does not belong only to those who travel far away. It begins in the family, the neighborhood, work and care of the person who needs to be heard.
The beginnings of Amsa-dong
The parish history places the origin of the community on 2 November 1980, when a station dependent on Cheonho-dong was established on the third floor of a commercial building.
In January 1981 it was elevated to parish. The episcopal directory formally dates the foundation on day 6, while the parish chronology notes the elevation on day 5 and the arrival of the first parish priest on day 25. The page retains this documentary difference without forcing a false coincidence.
From a commercial place to a stable church
In March 1982, the land of the present temple was acquired. The first stone of the new church was put on March 5, 1983.
The community celebrated there for the first time during the Christmas Mass on December 24, 1983. The building was dedicated on 19 May 1985 in a celebration presided over by Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou@-@ hwan.
A parish that gave rise to other communities
The local chronology records the separation of Godeok-dong in 1986 and Myeongil-dong in 1987. The growth was not locked in a single building, but rather favored new communities nearby.
This development offers a particularly appropriate reading under the title Queen of the Apostles: the life received is shared and the community is mature when it helps other Christian presences to take root.
Renew the common house
The temple and its dependencies have seen successive improvements. The parish history mentions church remodeling, new facilities for the priestly house, convent and formation, and various pastoral adjustments.
These works are not in themselves the mission, but they create spaces where the community can celebrate, learn, accompany and serve.
The apostles: sent, not owners
The word "apostle" means sent. No one sends himself or announces a particular possession: the Church receives the Gospel and transmits it.
Mary teaches that attitude because she receives the Word before offering it to the world. His mission is born from listening and leads to Jesus.
Unit without uniformity
The apostles had different stories, temperaments and responsibilities. Christian communion does not erase these differences, but rather learns to guide them to the same service.
An urban parish brings together ages, professions and diverse experiences. To ask for Mary's intercession means to work so that differences do not become contempt or exclusion.
The current community
The consulted directory has 5,548 faithful, two priests and the presence of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Most Holy Sacrament of Inbo. These figures and responsibilities may vary.
The published phone is 02-442-8511 / 2. The hours should be confirmed directly before they go, although the directories consulted show an active community.
verified location for the map
The official address is 46 Amsa gil, Gang-gu, Seúl. Nominal mapping identifies the temple in 37.5517045, 127.1342082.

To visit and pray
The visit can be offered by those who proclaim the Gospel, by catechists, missionaries, priests, religious and lay people who serve silently. Also for the communities that are being born and need accompaniment.
To pray to Mary, Queen of the Apostles, he invites to ask what personal gift can be put at the service of others and what reconciliation the community needs today.
