Marian devotion
The parish of Seosan Seokrim-dong, in the province of Chungcheong del Sur, has as its patron Mary, Queen of Grace. Founded in 1987, he lives near Haemi, one of the great memories of the Korean Catholic martyrdom.

An official and specific patronage
The Episcopal Conference of Korea Post of silver gun, literally "Queen of Grace," as patron of Seosan Seokrim-dong. The expression should not be confused with About Us, "Queen of heavenly Grace," which identifies another Korean community.

A parish since 1987
The community was erected August 17, 1987. It belongs to the district of Seosan within the diocese of Daejeon.
The directory also records the presence of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres. His service is part of the documented pastoral life, although religious assignments can change over time.
What does "Queen of Grace" mean?
Mary is called queen for her unique union with Jesus Christ, King and Lord, and for her humble participation in the work of salvation. His royalty is neither political domain nor power separate from God.
Grace comes from God. Mary receives her fully and freely cooperates with her; therefore this title celebrates what God does in her handmaid.
Full of grace
In the Annunciation, the angel greets Mary as full of grace. Mary's response does not retain the gift for herself: she accepts to be the Mother of the Saviour and places herself at the service of the divine plan.
Christian grace is neither prestige nor privilege to be locked up. Transforms the person to love, serve and persevere in the truth.
Royalty as service
Pius XII explained Mary's royalty in relation to her divine motherhood and her cooperation with Christ. The Second Vatican Council considers it exalted by God, but always subordinate to his Son.
From this perspective, calling Mary queen does not reproduce the ambitions of the ground powers. It presents humility, mercy and fidelity as the true way of greatness.
Memory of the martyrs of Haemi
In 2014, the diocese documented a pilgrimage from the whole parish from the Haemi shrine to Seokrim-dong. The 10.5 km tour recalled the 50th anniversary of the discovery of remains of anonymous martyrs.
The community symbolically moved land from the martyrdom to the parish. This gesture linked Marian patronage to the memory of those who remained faithful in the midst of persecution.
A memory I hate
Honoring the martyrs does not authorize contempt for Korea or simplifications of its history. His testimony today calls for the defence of the religious freedom and dignity of all conscience.
Mary, Queen of Grace, accompanies a memory oriented to reconciliation. The truth of suffering is preserved without turning it into a desire for rematch.
