Marian devotion
The military parish of Seungjin, in the municipality of Pinheon, is dedicated to Mary, Queen of Peace. In a region near the inter-Korean border, the title calls for a peace based on human dignity, justice and reconciliation.

An officially confirmed patronage
The Episcopal Conference of Korea records About Us, Queen of Peace, as patron of Seungjin. The file also confirms its membership of the Military Ordinariate, its direction and the founding date.
A local Marian apparition is not claimed. The patronage of a specific Catholic community is documented.
A parish since 1959
Seungjin was established the 1 November 1959. His pastoral care takes place within the Military Ordinary, a Catholic jurisdiction dedicated to members of the armed forces and their families.
The public source also records a dependent station. In the absence of sufficient evidence of ownership and location, a second marker is not added.
The 2018 transfer
The Digital Encyclopedia of Local Culture of Pocheon documents the old Seungjin building in Jangam-ri and points out that in December 2018 the parish moved completely to Nogok-ri, to the former temple of Ottugi.
Therefore, the map does not use the historical location. It points to the current direction published by the Episcopal Conference.

The March 2025 accident
The diocese of Chuncheon reported damage to the temple of Seungjin when ammunition launched by mistake during an air exercise fell into the area of Nogok-ri. Entrance, crystals, walls and various religious images were affected.
The reference is included because it is published by an ecclesial source and directly affects the temple. No accident coordinates or unnecessary operational details are reproduced.
Accompanying victims
In the face of such an accident, the priority is the injured, displaced or frightened. Material reparation must be accompanied by health care, psychological support, truth and responsibility.
Marian devotion should not trivialize trauma. It can support respectful listening and solidarity that allows each affected to regain security.
Peace and reconciliation in Korea
From Pinheon, the prayer for peace on the peninsula is especially close. It includes civilians and military on both sides, separate families and those working to reduce tensions.
Reconciliation does not mean denying threats or forgetting victims. It means preventing fear and hatred from defining the relationship between peoples forever.
