In Yeonsinnae, north-west of Seoul, a parish is dedicated to Maria Reina. His royalty does not reproduce human power: he participates in the reign of Jesus Christ and takes the form of listening, motherhood and service.

De Blagwang 3-nong a Yeonsinnae

The community was founded in September 2003 as a parish of Blagw 3-nd, separated from Bulgwang-dong. The episcopal directory sets the canonical date on September 4.

The initial name explains why some ancient sources may not contain the word Yeonsinnae. They are not two different parishes, but two successive names of the same community.

The construction of the parish space

After acquiring the property, the community promoted works for meeting rooms, priestly house and other spaces necessary for its pastoral life during 2004.

This process shows that the parish was built step by step. The building was to host not only the liturgy, but also the formation, meeting and service.

Dedicated September 2006

In September 2006, coinciding with the blessing of the temple, the parish adopted the name Yeonsinnae and was dedicated to Maria Reina.

The source allows to link with security, name and building. It is not necessary to deduce the invocation of an image or an oral tradition.

Why Mary is called Queen

Pius XII explained that Mary's royalty depends entirely on Jesus Christ. She is Mother of the Messianic King and is uniquely associated with her work, without becoming a divinity.

A distinct realisation of the domain

That is why the title does not justify authoritarianism, privilege or distance. It invites any responsibility as a service and care.

The Feast of Mary Queen

The Roman liturgy celebrates the 22 August, eight days after the Assumption. The closeness expresses that the glorification of Mary culminates in a humble participation in the reign of Christ.

The mother parish of Bulgwang-dong was founded in 1964 and is located in 786 Tongil-ro. Yeonsinnae was born in 2003 and is found in 6 Yeonseo-ro 43-gil.

In addition to different homes and dates, they have different patterns. That's why they must appear as two independent markers on the map.

Mary Queen and peace

The royalty of Christ is not sustained in violence. From Seoul, this vocation opens a special prayer for the reconciliation of Korea and for those who live without freedom.

Working for peace requires truth, justice and respect for human dignity. Prayer does not replace that responsibility, but it can purify it from hatred.
