An officially documented parish advocation

This is the dedication of a Korean parish to the advocation born in Portugal. There is no local apparition in Boryeong; this page clearly distinguishes the place where the devotion of the place where you live today originated.
A community founded in 1962
The parish was erected 17 October 1962. The episcopal record also documents the collaboration of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres.
Its temple is located in the urban core of Boryeong, a city on the western coast of Chungcheongnam- do. The proximity of the sea and the islands recalls that Korean pastoral life is not concentrated only in Seoul and the large metropolitan areas.
From Cova from Iria to Corea
The Shrine of Fatima places the apparitions of 1917 in Cova da Iria, where the children Lucía dos Santos, Francisco Marto and Jacinta Marto claimed to have seen the Virgin between May and October. The Church submitted the events to discernment before officially recognizing the visions of 1917 as credible.
The advocation was then extended by many countries. May a Korean parish adopt it not geographically transfer the apparitions: it expresses the local reception of its spiritual call.
The Rosary as a School of the Gospel
In Fatima, the daily prayer of the Rosary occupies a central place. To repeat the avemary does not mean to empty the mind, but to contemplate with Mary the mysteries of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Rosary educates Christian memory. In the painful mysteries it is possible to bring to God the wars, the family divisions and the suffering of the innocent; in the glorious they hold the hope that death and evil do not have the last word.
Conversion without fear or curiosity
The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith explained that the purpose of private revelations is not to complete the Gospel or to satisfy the curiosity about the future. Its value is to help to live faith more fully in a specific time.
That is why Fatima's message should not become a calendar of disasters. Its core invites conversion, penance understood as a change of life, prayer and trust in God's mercy.
Peace as a task
The appeal for peace takes on a special resonance in Korea, where the peninsula remains divided and many families maintain war wounds. To pray for peace does not replace the responsibility to build it.
The conversion requested in Fatima begins in the concrete relationships: renouncing hatred, seeking truth, repairing damage, protecting the weak and maintaining open paths of dialogue.
Under the Mother's cloak
In Fatima, Pope Francis rejected an image of Mary as a threat or a barrier to a punishing God. He presented the Virgin as a mother who leads to hope in Christ and takes her children under his cloak.
This perspective avoids devotion based only on fear. The true Marian prayer arouses trust, mercy and commitment to those who suffer.

The visit must respect the life of the local community. Daecheon is not presented as a sanctuary of apparitions, but as a parish that lives the spirituality of Fatima.
