The parish of Seokjeon-dong, in the old urban area of Masan today integrated in Changwon, is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. Since 1991, the title has invited this Korean community to pray, convert and work for peace.

What happened in Fatima
The official Shrine of Fatima retains the memory of Our Lady's apparitions to Lucia of Jesus, Francis Marto and Jacinta Marto in 1917.
The Virgin identified herself as Lady of the Rosary and asked for a chapel to be built in her honor. The original chapel was erected in Cova da Iria in 1919.
A God-centered message
Fatima's message calls for prayer, conversion, reparation and peace. It offers no esoteric curiosity or a way of salvation other than the Gospel.
The sanctuary highlights the centrality of Jesus Christ. Mary leads to the worship of God and to a life transformed by her mercy.

The Saints Francis and Jacinta
St. John Paul II beatified Francis and Jacinta in Fatima on May 13, 2000; they were later canonized. His child response was not empty naivety, but persevering prayer and compassion for those who suffered.
His example should be proposed without imposing on children improper burdens or glorifying pain. Christian faith protects his dignity and listens to his voice.
The Immaculate Heart
In Fatima there is also the reference to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The heart, in the biblical sense, expresses the center of the person, his memory, freedom and love.
