Marian devotion
In Indeogwon, within the city of Anyang, a community with Mary contemplates the mysteries of Jesus Christ. His patronage of the Rosary has been expressed in a particularly clear way by uniting the prayer of the tens with the attentive copy of the Gospel of St. John and with concrete actions of solidarity.

An officially proven dedication
The Episcopal Conference of Korea is a patron of God’s WordThe Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary. The parish directory corroborates the title and the founding date.
The patronage does not simply come from the prayer of the Rosary. It is the ecclesial dedication of the parish, different from other Marian communities of the diocese of Suwon.
The Rosary has a center: Jesus Christ
St. John Paul II explained that the Rosary, although it has a clearly Marian form, is a prayer centered on Christ. Each mystery opens a scene of the Gospel and allows you to contemplate the face of the Lord with Mary.
The repetition of the avemaria holds the rhythm, but it must not hide the mystery. The name of Jesus is the center of prayer and his life is the content that is contemplated.
Listen before repeating
Paul VI insisted on the evangelical and contemplative character of the Rosary. Without inner attention, prayer can become a mechanical succession of words.
Proclaiming a biblical passage, keeping silent and formulating a concrete intention before every ten helps voice, memory and life to advance together.
Foundation of the parish
Indeogwon was erected on 14 February 1997. The date is confirmed by both the Episcopal Conference and the institutional site of the community.
The parish serves an urban environment of Anyang, near an important transport knot. In this context, the temple offers a stable place for the Eucharist, catechesis, prayer and encounter.
Twenty-five years on the way
On October 9, 2022, the community celebrated a mass for the twenty-fifth anniversary of its foundation. The preparation was not reduced to a commemorative act: it included prayer, Scripture and mission review.
The celebration presented a video with the parish history and reminded those who had served in their different stages. The memory was directed towards a new stage of evangelization, not just the past.
192,780 dozens of the Rosary
During the anniversary, the parish offered 192,780 tens prayed by the community. The source uses the usual Korean unit to account for every ten, not necessarily complete rosaries of five mysteries.
This accuracy avoids mismultiplying the figure. His spiritual value also depends not on the size of the number, but on the faith, perseverance and conversion with which he prayed.
The Gospel of John written by hand
The preparation joined the Rosary with the handwritten copy of the Gospel according to John. At the Mass, those who had completed this work were recognized.
Slowly copying a biblical text can help to discover words that a hasty reading lets pass. It is not an automatic technique of holiness, but a discipline of attention available for prayer.
Word and mystery are illuminated
The fourth Gospel contemplates signs, encounters and discourses of Jesus with a particular depth. His account of Cana presents Mary to the need and to guide the servants to the word of her Son.
By combining Scripture and Rosary, the community avoids separating devotion and Revelation. Mary appears within the mystery of Christ and teaches to listen to him.
A name associated with goodness and virtue
At the anniversary celebration, the name Indeogwon was explained as a call to a community of a kind heart that shares virtue. This pastoral reading connects local identity and mission.
Goodness is not just a feeling. It must take shape in time offered, shared resources, protection of the vulnerable and willingness to repair the damage.
Donar bleeds as a gesture of life
On March 23, 2014, the parish hosted a diocesan blood donation campaign during Lent. 52 people were present and 36 were able to donate after the health assessment.
Nine inscriptions for hematopoietic stem cell donation and the delivery of 79 blood donation certificates were also documented. These are data from that day, not current or permanent figures.
Charity needs health criteria
Not all people who want to donate can. Medication, anemia, recent disease and other criteria protect both the donor and the person receiving the blood.
Accepting medical evaluation is part of the responsible act. Those who are unfit can collaborate in other ways without feeling guilty or exposing their health.
Rosary that becomes service
The contemplative prayer does not replace material aid. On the contrary, looking at the mysteries of Christ should make human pain more visible and move to a prudent response.
In Indeogwon, documentation allows for this continuity: the Gospel read, the Rosary prayed and shared life through a concrete health campaign.
Prayer after a pandemic
The twenty-fifth anniversary took place after the toughest periods of the COVID19 pandemic. The celebration recognized the weakening of community ties and the need to approach with warmth those who hesitated to return.
The experience invites not to judge those who walked away because of fear, mourning, disease or tiredness. Christian reception first hears and rebuilds trust step by step.
The Rosary for the Peace of Korea
The joyful mysteries remember the dignity of life; the painful ones allow to present the wounds of division and violence; the glorious ones maintain the hope of reconciliation.
To pray for peace also requires rejecting dehumanization, verifying information and protecting those who suffer the consequences of political and military decisions.
verified location for the map
The Episcopal Conference offers the leadership 466 Gwanak-daero, Dongan- gu, Anyang. The search for the Korean name and the city places the temple in 37.4034165, 126.973643.
The marker coincides with the parish church and not with the Indeogwon Metro Station or a generic point in the neighborhood.
Romanization and possible confusion
It appears romanized as Indeogwon, Indeokwon or Indukwon. The form may vary, but the Korean name, address and coordinates identify the same place.
The parish belongs to Too bad, not Suwon city, although it is part of the diocese of Suwon. Nor should it be confused with the many Korean parishes dedicated to the Virgin of the Rosary.
To visit and pray
It's an active parish. It is appropriate to confirm hours and access before moving, remain silent during the celebrations and ask for permission before photographing people.
A passage from the Gospel of John can be read and a ten is offered by donors and patients, another by those who rebuild community ties and another by the peace of the Korean peninsula.
