La parroquia de Nam-Myry, south of the city of Miryang, is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Holy Rosary. It is a young community that serves both an urban district and small communities scattered in rural territory.

De Yerim a Nam@@
The community separated from the Miryang parish in 2004 and began its life under the name of Kerim, at a site located in Sangham- myeon. The episcopal directory retains the exact date of its erection.
In preparing a more suitable headquarters for its mission, the parish has undertaken a long construction effort since 2008. The story of Nam-Miryang is therefore not that of a building completed from the first day, but that of a community that gathered resources, prayer and work.
The new temple of Gagok-dong
The works of the present temple began on March 31, 2012. The building, made of reinforced concrete, was built on a ground of 2,394 square meters and has about 1,201 square meters built.
On April 7, 2013, he was dedicated by Bishop Paul Hwang Cheol-soo. With the transfer to Gagok-dong the name of Nam-Miryang, "South Miryang," was consolidated.
A parish with three rural communities
Nam-Miryang also serves the communities of Namsan, Muan and Oesan. This structure shows that the urban temple does not exhaust its mission: the parish links small and faithful populations that live a greater distance.
In that context, the Rosary is a particularly close prayer. It does not require great space or complex materials and can support family faith when frequent access to the temple is difficult.
Our Lady of the Holy Rosary
The Korean patronal title coincides with the liturgical name of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary. By praying it, the believer looks with Mary at the mysteries of Jesus Christ and learns to look at his own life from the Gospel.
St. John Paul II recalled that the Rosary, though Marian, has a Christological heart. The repetition of the avemaria creates a rhythm of contemplation; the center is not the isolated formula, but the name and life of Jesus.
Mary between the countryside and the city
Miryang has a strong relationship with agriculture, although its urban neighbourhoods and communications have changed rapidly. The parish serves precisely at that point of encounter between different forms of life.
The Rosary can bring together generations and places: village elders, neighborhood families, workers who move and children who begin to know the faith. Each mystery creates a common house around Christ.

To visit and pray
It's an active parish. The hours may vary and should be confirmed prior to displacement, especially if one of the rural communities is to be visited.
The Rosary can be prayed for those who live in villages with little population, for farmers, vocations and parishes that must keep a geographically dispersed community together.
