First parroquia for Norangjin
The community was erected in 1972 to serve the Catholics of the Norangjin area, who until then had to travel to other parishes. The episcopal directory has since recorded the patronage of the Presentation of Mary.
The growth of the neighborhood and parish life led to the construction of the present temple. It was dedicated on 22 August 2004 by Archbishop Nicholas Cheong-Jin@-@ suk.
A temple for prayer and meeting
The building was built on a plot of about 1,500 square meters and distributed the main church, a community room, meeting spaces and residences on various levels.
Its location in a dense neighborhood gives special value to these spaces. The parish is not just a place of mass: it offers silence, company and community to people who spend long days studying.
The Presentation of Mary
The liturgical feast of November 21 recalls the tradition that Mary was presented in the temple during her childhood. The episode does not appear in the canon Gospels, so the Church does not propose it as a demonstrable historical chronicle.
Her spiritual sense is Mary's total surrender to God. The liturgy contemplates a life prepared to listen to the Word and respond freely when the proclamation comes.
The neighborhood of the opponents
Noryangjin has concentrated for years academies and small accommodation for public job seekers and other examinations. Many young people come from different regions and live under pressure, uncertainty and loneliness.
The parish responded with a Sunday Mass aimed at them, distribution of food and Catholic press and study spaces. The sources describe a regular attendance of hundreds of students in the most active years.
To wait without being alone
Preparing an opposition can turn life into a long and fragile wait. The Christian community does not promise results or present prayer as a method of approval, but rather accompanies the person so that fear does not isolate it or determine its dignity.
Mary presented to God offers an image of vocation: every capacity can be put at the service of the common good. Professional success finds its meaning when it becomes responsibility to others.
Advent in Noryangjin
An Advent chronicle collected the testimony of young people who found at the Mass a break from pressure and a way to live the waiting of Christ. The progressive lighting of the candles helped them to recognize the passage of time without despair.
The Presentation of Mary and Advent share that availability: to prepare the heart, to persevere and to receive the future as a call, not only as a result.

The marker does not correspond to the Noryangjin station or the centre of the academies, but to the parish building of Jangseungbaegi-ro 24-gil.

The parish is active and the times can change. The information should be confirmed before coming and respecting both the celebrations and those who seek silence.
The first joyful mystery can be prayed for by students, opponents, unemployed, young people who discern their vocation and families who support them during long periods of uncertainty.

Holy Mary presented to God, keeps those who study, wait for an opportunity or seek her vocation in Noryangjin. Deliver them from loneliness and fear of not being worth a result. Teach us to offer our capabilities with freedom and to prepare each day the heart to serve Jesus Christ and the common good. Amen.
