Marian devotion
In Sinnam, within the municipality of Hwaseong, a young Catholic community is dedicated to Holy Mary, Source of our Joy. The title contemplates in the Mother of Jesus a joy received from Christ and shared through faith, service and community life.

A rare Marian title
The directory of the Korean Episcopal Conference literally records Santa Maria as a "source of joy" as the patron of Sinnam. The expression is related to Latin invocation Our cause laetitiae, cause of our joy.
It is adopted "Source of our Joy" to preserve the Korean nuance, but it does not present Mary as an independent origin of salvation. His joy is born from God and leads to Jesus Christ.
A parish born in 2019
Sinnam was erected on 18 June 2019 when they separated from the parish of Namyang. Its territory includes several localities of Namyang-eup and a part of Namyang@-@ ri.
During its early years the community celebrated in the mother parish while preparing a space of its own. Institutional youth invites them to document their growth without inventing ancient traditions.
The beginning of the works
On November 14, 2020, the diocese celebrated the blessing of the land and the mass of the beginning of works in Sinnam-ri 1350-5. The project included educational building, parish units and liturgical space.
The diocese stressed that building a material temple should be linked to the service and sacrifice with which the community announces to God in its surroundings.
Own space since 2021
On November 20, 2021, the entrance mass was held in the completed educational building. Its second floor was conditioned as a provisional church and allowed the parish to stop meeting in Namyang.
The diocesan documentation then explained that the final temple would be built at a later stage, when it was possible to collect the necessary resources.
Documented status of the whole
The chronicle of the diocese confirms that the educational phase and the provisional space were completed and in use in November 2021. No later source has been found to confirm the dedication of a permanent independent temple.
By rigour, this page calls the place "parish" and "space of self-veneration," without attributing a constructive phase that the sources consulted do not demonstrate.
Mary and the Pascual Joy

Building community
The diocesan chronicle reports that the faithful gathered funds through small initiatives, collection of reusable materials and prayer from many Rosaries.
These actions show co-responsibility, but the dignity of no one depends on their economic or physical contribution. Sick, old and people with few resources belong fully to the community.
A population in transformation
Hwaseong combines rural areas, residential development and rapid industrialization. Sinnam accompanies families and workers in this change.
