Marian devotion
In the Suji district, within the city of Yongin, the parish of Jukjeon 1-dong is dedicated to Holy Mary, Gate of Heaven. This ancient title of the litany contemplates Mary as the creature by whose obedient response entered the world Jesus Christ, a true way to the Father.

An officially confirmed Marian title
The Episcopal Conference of Korea records as the patron of Jukjeon 1-dong "Holy Mary, Gate of Heaven." The diocese of Suwon also uses the abbreviated name "Puerta del Cielo parish" and confirms the separation of the parish of Jukjeon in 2006.
This is not an apparition or a private revelation sanctuary. It is a parochial dedication based on a traditional title of the Virgin within the prayer of the Church.
A parish born in 2006
Jukjeon 1-dong was erected on September 26, 2006 when she separated from the parish of Jukjeon. It responded to the residential growth of the area and the need for a closer community for the neighbourhoods of Naedaeji, Seonghyeon and Saeteo.
During their early years, the faithful built pastoral ties while preparing their own temple. The community was not born from the finished building: it was preceded by the Eucharist, catechesis, service and shared effort.
The consecration of the new temple
On September 10, 2016, Bishop Mathias Lee Yong@-@ hoon presided over the consecration of the new church in Daejiro. Ten years after its foundation, the parish received a stable space for liturgy and community life.
The dedication of a temple does not make it a closed enclosure. The material door recalls the call to welcome: to come in to meet God and to go out to serve the neighbor.
Mary, door for the Incarnation
In the Annunciation, Mary hears the word of God and responds freely. Your "do it" allows the Word to assume our humanity. The image of the door expresses this availability without diminishing the absolute initiative of God.
Mary doesn't keep anyone close to her. Every authentic devotion leads to Jesus, invites to hear his Gospel and forms disciples who can give themselves up.
Door of hope
The Assumption of Mary shows, according to the Catholic faith, the destiny to which God calls the whole human being. In it the Church contemplates a sign of hope for those who pilgrim between fragility, disease and death.

The door and hospitality
A church dedicated to the Gate of Heaven is called to examine its own doors: if they are accessible, if the newcomer is given guidance, if the person with disabilities can participate and if the person suffering is able to listen safely.
Hospitality does not mean the absence of limits. The protection of minors, privacy and respect for the celebrations require clear and responsible standards.
Mary and family life
Mary knew the daily life of Nazareth, the concern for a son and the experience of displacement. It can accompany families subject to extended hours, care for the elderly, unemployment, disease or conflict.
Prayer does not replace professional mediation, medical care or protection from abuse. A Marian community must help access adequate resources and never call for silence in the face of violence.
Pray for Korean peace
The door is also a meeting image. Jukjeon 1-dong can pray that paths of dialogue will be opened on the Korean peninsula and that separate families will not disappear from collective memory.
Peace requires safe doors, not borders of hatred; truth and prudence, not naivety. Mary teaches a patient hope that becomes actions of reconciliation.
