Father Martins was the priest of Fatima. At first he doubted, but decided to investigate. He questioned the children separately, asked them difficult questions, and found their stories to match. He also investigated the behaviour of children: they stopped playing, became more serious, and offered sacrifices. The father concluded that the apparitions were true.
