Francisco Marto was a quiet child who saw angels and spoke with them in the chapel.

Francis was different from his sister Jacinta. He was quiet, dreamy, and he saw things that others didn't see. On one occasion, he entered the chapel and saw two angels kneeling at the altar, with their hands crossed. He stayed there for hours, in silence, contemplating.
Francisco enfermó de gripe como su hermana. En su lecho de muerte, dijo: «Me voy a la casa del Padre». Murió el 4 de abril de 1919, a los 11 años. Fue canonizado en 2017.
