The co-cathedral of Guadalupe de Belmopán
In the heart of the youngest capital of America, born after Hurricane Hattie of 1961, the parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe accompanied Belmopan from its first steps. It is co-cathedral of the diocese of Belize City- Belmopán since the headquarters took its double name in 1983.
🌹 Wonders and anecdotes
- The Church worked side by side with the State in building the pioneering community of Belmopan, the capital raised after the devastation of the hurricane.
- In the 1970s, the mission worked with the Government and UNHCR to host thousands of refugees fleeing the Central American wars.

- He was appointed a retired church in the Jubilee of Mercy (2016) and in the Holy Year 2025.
