Marian devotion
Juan Diego and the image of the tylma
Mexico City, Mexico
The Virgin of Guadalupe left her miraculously stamped image on the tima of Juan Diego, a humble indigenous.
Main data

On December 12, 1531, the Virgin appeared to Juan Diego on the hill of the Tepeyac. He asked you to bring him flowers. Juan Diego went up to the hill and found roses of Castile, which did not grow on that land. He put them on his tilma and went down. When he opened the tima before the bishop, the roses fell and the image of the Virgin was printed on the tima.
The tylma is almost 500 years old and has not deteriorated. Scientists can't explain how the image was made.
