Marian devotion
The roses that should not exist
Mexico City, Mexico
The roses that Juan Diego brought from the hill of Tepeyac were from Castile, a species that did not grow in Mexico.
Main data

When the Virgin asked Juan Diego to bring him flowers, he went up to the hill and found roses of Castile, a species that grew only in Spain. In December, in the middle of winter, the roses were fresh and perfumed. Juan Diego put them in his tylma and went down to introduce them to the bishop. When he opened the tima, the roses fell and the image of the Virgin was stamped.
