In the suburbs of Mumbai, the fishermen of Bandra venerate an image of the Virgin who, according to tradition, was found in the sea by a fisherman.

A Bandra fisherman found a box floating in the sea. When he opened it, he saw an image of the Virgin Mary. He took her home and since then his family had always had plenty. When he tried to sell the image, all the good things went away. Then he returned her to the church.
Today the Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount receives thousands of pilgrims every month of May.
