The elders of Jowai say that the Virgin appeared in a forest cave to a pastoralist who was looking for her goats. The Virgin told her to keep the place secret, but the pastoralist couldn't shut up. When the town came to the cave, they saw a golden light that never went out. There's a chapel in the cave today.
