Origin and history
The Catholic Cathedral of Tonga, in Nukualofa, is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception (in Tongano, Malia Tupu Imakulata). Along with this advocation, Our Lady of Perpetual Relief, held on June 27, is the Catholic patron of the island kingdom.
