Origin and history
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Weno (Chuuk), is the seat of the diocese of the Carolines Islands, which covers all of Micronesia and Palau. The first church was raised by German Jesuits in 1915; the whole was solemnly dedicated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1951.
