Our Lady of the Annunciation of Haman
The Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, in the Jabal Luweibdeh district of Amman (Jordan), is a Latin parish of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem: the first stone was placed in 1961 and was consecrated in 1963.
🌹 Wonders and anecdotes
- It was built thanks to the generosity of Wasef Bisharat, the gentleman of the Holy Sepulchre, and his dedication plate is written in Latin and Arabic.
- For 26 years (1965-1991) it was the home of the patriarchal vicar for Jordan.
- The parish complex houses the office of Caritas Jordan and has hosted school and religious house.
- In 2022 he celebrated his diamond Jubilee with a Mass of thanksgiving presided over by the Vicar Bishop for Jordan.

In one of the oldest neighborhoods of the Jordanian capital, this parish keeps alive the "good news" of the angel to Mary among generations of Christians from the Holy Land, with parish councils, youth movements, co-fradies and scouts.
