Marian devotion
Where is he?
The Conchita is the affectionate name known in Carolina del Príncipe, Antioquia, to the devotion of the Immaculate Conception. The Diocese of Santa Rosa de Osos identifies the Marian Sanctuary of the Conchita there and places devotion at the heart of local identity. The point of the map is left in the town of Carolina del Príncipe: the OSM consultation confirms the municipality, but does not offer an unequivocal geometry of the sanctuary with the precision necessary to call it GPS of the building.
The name does not designate an apparition other than the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. It is a local way of venerating Mary under that title, with her own temple, feast and memory.
Documented history
The page of the diocese places the official creation of the parish on June 15, 1801. The temple and image have been linked to the life of the municipality since then. The same source describes an image of the Quiteña school and an altarpiece in which the Immaculate is represented with the rosary and a Marian attribute in their hands.
The diocese also explains that the sanctuary was last restored in 2018. This restoration belongs to the recent material history of the place and allows us to understand why devotion is not just an ancient reference: the building continues to be a space of prayer for the inhabitants and pilgrims.
The patron feast is held from November 29 to December 8, culminating in the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The diocesan fountain presents the date as the main festive cycle of the sanctuary. A more extensive timing of the size or the building is not added here because the verified sources for this lot do not allow it to be safely fixed.
Tradition
Local tradition tells that an image intended for Santa Rosa de Osos came by mistake to Carolina and that the community adopted it as a protector. The diocese calls this origin a historic "happy mistake." It is preserved as a tradition of devotion, separated from documentation about the parish, the sanctuary and the restorations.
The December feast, the visit to the sanctuary and the use of the rosary express the piety of a community entrusted to Mary. In the Catholic faith, this veneration calls for the intercession of the Mother of Jesus; it does not turn Mary into God or replace the worship due only to the Lord.
Legend
Local sources use devotional language on favors and protection. This fact does not transform these testimonies into proven miracles, nor does it present as a supernatural fact that the image "would like" to remain in Carolina. When tradition narrates signs or favors, it must be read as a devout memory until there is a historical or ecclesial record that allows them to be otherwise affirmed.
Ecclesial State
The state indicated is permitted veneration: the diocese documents the parish, the Marian Sanctuary of the Conchita, the patron feast and the restoration of the place. This label does not claim approval of an apparition or a miracle. The advocation belongs to the Catholic veneration of the Immaculate Conception in a local sanctuary.
Anecdotes and stories
The appeal "La Conchita" shows how a community can turn a doctrinal title - the Immaculate Conception - into a close, familiar and recognizable name. The image in the altarpiece and the feast that ends on December 8 link the daily life of the municipality to the universal calendar of the Church.
The 2018 restoration recalls that keeping an image and a temple is also a concrete task of the community. Devotion does not depend on inventing new stories: it can be transmitted through prayer, liturgical celebration, the care of heritage and the reception of pilgrims.
Prayer
Holy Mary, Immaculate Mother of Jesus, intercedes before God for Carolina of the Prince and for all who come to the Shrine of the Conchite. Help us to preserve faith with humility, to distinguish history from tradition and to serve our brothers with tenderness. Amen.

Documentary extension: identity of La Conchita
The diocese links the official beginning of the parish to June 15, 1801 and presents as a foundational tradition the arrival of the image by a misconception of destiny. The size, its altarpiece, the main park and the celebrations form a set that explains the Marian identity of Carolina del Príncipe without turning traditional narration into an approved apparition.
The diocesan page states that the image received a canonical coronation in 1964. This institutional statement is made without inventing the number or text of the Pontifical Decree. The Mass of pilgrims and the restoration of 2018 document the continuity of the sanctuary and are not, in themselves, proof of supernatural facts.
