Our Lady of the Lovers
The image of Our Lady of the Lovers is a wooden carving depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by hearts and flowers. Tradition says that the Virgin appeared to a young woman from Signagi who was praying for the love of her life.

Local tradition
The inhabitants of Signagi say that for centuries, couples in love would come to the parish church to ask for the Virgin Mary's blessing before getting married. Tradition holds that couples who married in Signagi under the protection of Our Lady of Lovers never separated.
