The Church of the Assumption
The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Soroca is one of the oldest Catholic temples in Moldova. Built in the 18th century, the church houses a miraculous image of the Virgin who has been venerated by generations of faithful.
The image of the Virgin of the Dniester
The image of the Virgin of the Dniester is an oil painting that represents the Virgin Mary with the Child Jesus, surrounded by angels that protect pilgrims across the river. Tradition says that the Virgin appeared to a group of pilgrims who were about to drown in the waters of the Dniester.
