In Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, the Cathedral of Santa Maria is the center of the Catholic faith. The Oblate missionaries established devotion in the 19th century.
Faith in the mountain kingdom

Tradition tells that the Virgin protects the Lesotian Catholics from the frost that floats the mountains. The faithful pray the Rosary before winter, asking for the protection of the Virgin.
