Bernadette Soubirous was a poor and sick girl who saw the Virgin 18 times in a grotto of the French Pyrenees.

On February 11, 1858, Bernadette was 14. Iga collecting wood with her sisters when she saw a bright light in the grotto. From the light came a young woman, dressed in white, with a blue belt. The woman smiled at him. Bernadette was hypnotized. The other girls ran away scared.
