🌹 Wonders and anecdotes
- The parish was born in 1870, when Catholicism was just beginning to regain legal presence in Sweden; its first vicar was Bernhard zu Stolberg.
- The first temple (1872-1960), together with Gustav Adolfs torg, was called the Sacred Heart of Jesus, but the name had to be changed to "Our Savior" because in that Sweden it was perceived as a Catholic provocation: a memory of a time when professing faith required discretion and patience.
- The present church, the work of architect Hans Westman in the Hästhagen district, was opened on April 9, 1960; on the main altar a 14th century crucifix came from the church of Ekerö.
- The Virgin has her place in the temple: in the left side chapel a picture of Mary from the 17th century, a gift from the archdiocese of Munich and Frisinga, is venerated, before which a parish of about 7,500 faithful from all over the world prays.
Nuestro Salvador (Our Savior)
In Malmö the Catholic Church was reborn in 1870 and today she prays in the Church of Our Savior, consecrated in 1960. It is not a Marian temple, but Mary accompanies this community of many languages from her side chapel, with an image of the 17th century coming from Bavaria.
In his quiet and faithful faith, he accompanies the Catholics of Scandinavia.
