Marian worship
Origin and history
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Peace—in Tahitian, "María no te Hau"—in the Tepata Valley, above Papeete, is a Marian place of prayer deeply rooted in Polynesian tradition, distinct from the city's cathedral. The Queen of Peace reigns here with a Polynesian face and heart.
Party and devotion
Marian devotion inculturated in the heart of Tahiti. The devotion is a hallmark of its community.
Link to the Rosary
In the most remote islands of the Pacific, where faith often arrived by sea, the Rosary remains the simple prayer that unites every heart with Mary, from island to island and from generation to generation.
