His life
Maximin Giraud was born on August 26, 1835 in Corps, France. He was an 11-year-old shepherd when the Virgin appeared to him on the mountain of La Salette on September 19, 1846.
The Apparition
The Virgin appeared sitting on a rock, crying with her face in her hands. I speak French and asked him to pray, do penance and keep Sunday. I entrust you with a secret that I reveal to Pope Pius IX.
His life
After the apparitions, Maximin lived a difficult life. I work in various trades and travel through France. He never adapts to the fame of apparitions.
His death
He died on March 1, 1875 in Corps, at the age of 39. His death was attributed to pneumonia.
