Marian devotion
Guadalupe and Mexican priests
Mexico City
Mexican priests have Guadalupe as their spiritual mother.
Every Mexican priest has an image of Guadalupe in his room. Before he says mass, he asks him to help him to be a good shepherd.
Tradition tells that when a priest doubts his vocation, he goes to the basilica and sits in front of the Virgin. The Virgin smiles at him and reminds him why she chose to be a priest.
