Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin

Mexico City

The indigenous who spoke with the Mother of God and was canonized by John Paul II.

Place: Mexico City
Type: Apparition / Advocation

Juan Diego was born in 1474 in Cuautitlán. He was a poor, married man who went to mass every Sunday. When the Virgin spoke to him, he didn't want to believe it was true.

I'm nothing, but the Virgin chose me. So are we all: nothing before God, but loved by our Mother.
