The first miracle of Guadalupe
Mexico City
An indigenous man was wounded by an arrow during a procession and was healed before the image.
During the first procession of the image, an indigenous man participating in a theatrical performance was wounded by a real arrow. The arrow pierced his chest.
Those present took him before the image of the Virgin. When they placed it in front of her, the arrow came out on its own and the wound healed instantly.
This was the first miracle attributed to the Virgin of Guadalupe, and it confirmed for the faithful that the image was real.
