Thousands of unexplained cures have been documented in Lourdes.
Since 1858, thousands of people have reported unexplained cures after visiting Lourdes and drinking water from the fountain. The Catholic Church has strictly investigated each case.
The medical commission
The Lourdes Medical Office, composed of non-Catholic doctors, investigates each case of healing. Only cures that have no medical explanation are considered miraculous.
Since 1858, only 70 curations have been officially recognized as miraculous by the Church. The last one was in 2018.
