The Rosary that liberated Austria
Austria, 1955
A national campaign in Rosario led to the withdrawal of the Soviet occupation forces.
After World War II, Austria was occupied by the allied forces. The Soviets controlled the east of the country. Father Petrus Pavlicek, an Austrian priest, organized a national campaign in Rosario in 1946.
The Rosary Crusade
The freedom of Austria
On 15 May 1955, the Soviets signed the Austrian State Treaty and withdrew. Austria was the only country occupied by the Soviets to regain their freedom without violence. Many Austrians attribute this miracle to the prayer of the Rosary.
