Immaculée Ilibagiza survived 91 days hidden while praying the Rosary.
In April 1994, Rwanda plunged into genocide. In 100 days, over 800,000 Tutsis were killed by the Hutus. The violence was indescribable.
Immaculate and the Rosary
Immaculée Ilibagiza, a young Tutsi, took refuge in a small bathroom with other women. They spent 91 days in hiding while the Hutus were looking for them. During those days, Immaculée prayed the Rosary constantly.
Survival and forgiveness
Immaculate survived the genocide. When he left the hiding place, he discovered that his whole family had been killed. After the genocide, he forgave those who killed his family.
