In the mountains of Matagalpa, where Nicaragua's best coffee grows, the coffee growers venerate the Virgin of Guadalupe. They pray before the harvest to give them a good year.
Tradition tells that the Virgin of Guadalupe protects the coffee growers from pests and frost. The coffee makers bring you coffee and flowers.
Every year, at the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe, the cafetaleros organize a procession for the cafetals, thanking for the harvest.
