Marian devotion
The shrine of Our Lady of the Alcobilla is located between San Justo and Rábano de Sanabria in the province of Zamora. It is a place of pilgrimage, Romry and Marian devotion, surrounded by long-standing chestnuts.
Where is he?
It is located at a crossroads between San Justo, Coso, Barrio de Rábano and Rábano de Sanabria. The map point uses the location of the own documented shrine in OpenStreetMap; it has not moved to the nearest location.
Documented history
The Portal de Turismo de Castilla y León describes the temple as a sanctuary of religious architecture, with a bell tower and a garden on the door. He also documents his presence as an enclave of pilgrimage and devotion in the region.
Tradition
On 8 and 9 September, the Romeria is celebrated, with the participation of the next peoples, its images and its pendons. It is a living tradition of veneration and pilgrimage; these data do not in themselves constitute a declaration of the supernatural origin of the foundational account.
Legend
The tourist source presents as legend the finding of an image by a shepherd plowing under a broom and the subsequent construction of the temple in that place. It also includes the traditional reference to an ancient Roman city. It is preserved here as legend, not as a proven story.
Ecclesial State
The cross-cutting sources document the sanctuary, its devotion and its rosemary. They do not contain a formal ecclesial pronunciation on the supernatural of the account of the finding; therefore, a label of ecclesial status is not assigned.
Anecdotes and stories
The environment conserves numerous centenary chestnuts and some described by the tourist source as millennia. The Romeria brings together several Sanabrese localities around the sanctuary.
Prayer
Our Lady of the Alcobilla, Mother of God, pray for us and intercede before your Son for those who come to this sanctuary and for those who seek comfort and hope.

Documentary extension
The tourist description emphasizes that the temple has considerable dimensions and a bell tower raised over the hastial, topped by a dome. On the door there is a furnace with a representation of Santa Maria. The name "Alcobilla" itself is related in the source to a possible transformation of "spit," due to the abundance of brooms - white or yellow flower bushes - of the environment. It is a toponymic explanation proposed by the source, not an independent etymological certainty.
The same page describes the crossing of roads between San Justo, Coso, Barrio de Rabano and Rabano as part of the context of the Romeria. The participation of the near peoples on 8 and 9 September shows the regional character of devotion, while the history of the shepherd and the image found under a broom remain in the section of legend. The point of the map remains the building cartographed by OpenStreetMap.
